Red Bourbon

Rwanda – Nyungwe

15,00

Honey processing from an outstanding washing station. This Red Bourbon is super sweet and fresh tasting berry like vibrancy. Aromas of violets and other florals with a ripe blueberry and blackberry flavour. Sweetness of caramel at finish is a highlight. Enjoy this as a filter coffee over ice or a bomb of an espresso.

The smallholder farms supplying Nyungwe typically range from 150 to 3,000 trees. Once cherries are delivered to the station, they are carefully cleaned and sorted. Depending on the intended profile, processing methods vary. In the case of Honey-processed lots, the coffee is pulped but not fully washed; instead, the mucilage is left intact as the beans are transferred directly to raised drying beds. As the coffee dries with this sticky layer still attached, it develops distinctive sweetness and body giving the Honey process its name.

Expect notes of: Blueberries, Blackcurrant, Violets, Caramel
