Roasted in Chania · ships next working day
Lighthouse is my interpretation of espresso. It’s what I want when I walk into a shop and order one: a clean, juicy cup with vibrancy in balance, a silky mouthfeel and plenty of sweetness. Bitterness is there too, but in a positive way, with good-quality cocoa notes. Round, comforting and full. The kind of coffee you finish and think, “I’ve just had a great cup.”
1 kg = four bags, €10 less.

It’s a medium roast with a relatively short roast time. How short depends on the roaster, but the aim is the same: give each coffee exactly what it needs and nothing more, so it keeps the character of its terroir and processing.
The current blend is a washed Colombia, a washed El Salvador and a small amount of washed Ethiopia. We believe in blending for espresso, and sometimes for filter when we want real balance. It’s an art: understanding how coffees complement each other until the cup has harmony. That’s the comfort most people look for in a coffee.

Make it yours. Your palate is the best guide. If it tastes good, you’re there. If not, adjust:
- Ratio shapes body. A shorter ratio gives a bigger body. A longer ratio gives a lighter body.
- Time shapes the taste. At the same ratio, a shorter shot tends to be lighter with more pronounced acidity. A longer shot leans toward bitterness.
- Temperature fine-tunes it.
With milk: we use full-fat milk and steam to about 55°C. Rest your palm on the jug and stop just before it’s too hot to touch. If it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to drink.
Water: taste three glasses of water at room temperature (about 20°C). The one you’d choose to drink is a good sign of what to brew with. Use filtered tap water or a bottled water you like.
